After the Crown – Website

After the Crown – Website

After the Crown is a website thought up by a former Miss Georgia Queen as a way to share stories and keep up with other Miss American Pageant queens. Originally, this website was built to allow other users to sign up to make blog posts on the site, but after realizing how hard it was to get others to post on the site, we shifted directions and simplified the site. Now, visitors can submit their own stories for approval, but without having to register on the site.

The site gives a spotlight on both current and past queens, as well as queens from the local, state, and national levels of competition.

For this site, I made the following customizations:

  • Changed color scheme
  • Created header image (logo)
  • Created custom php template files specific to a post category
  • Edited layout of posts
  • Created top and bottom menus
  • Created post submission system that automatically creates drafts of posts
  • Created former miss ga sign-up page
  • Created weekly e-mail update subscription system
  • Incorporated Responsive Image Slider
  • Installed backup solution
  • Edited images to fit image slider
